Terms of Service
These Terms govern your purchase and use of CausalTrader, operated by Mercurial AI Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Chicago, IL (“we”, “us”, “CausalTrader”).
1. The service
CausalTrader is a research product. We generate written reports for US-listed equities using a causal-inference pipeline (PCMCI+, VARLiNGAM) plus a frontier large-language-model writer. Reports are delivered as PDF attachments to the email address you provide at checkout.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to purchase a report. CausalTrader is intended for residents of jurisdictions where the sale of investment-research products is permitted. You are responsible for confirming your local rules.
3. Orders and pricing
Prices are listed on the pricing page and at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. By completing checkout you authorize the displayed charge.
Subscriptions (Pro) renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the link in your delivery email or by emailing dennis@mercurial-ai.com; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period (see “Refunds”).
4. Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on every report and on the first month of a subscription. Full details are on the refund policy page; that policy is incorporated into these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
Reports are licensed to you for your own research and decision-making only. You may not:
- resell, republish, or redistribute the report or extracts thereof;
- use the reports to train or fine-tune a machine-learning model;
- scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to bypass the API or rate limits;
- impersonate another person at checkout or share login credentials.
Quoting up to 200 words with attribution to “CausalTrader” and a link to causaltrader.ai is permitted.
6. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the CausalTrader name, branding, methodology, prompts, software, and the layout and presentation of every report. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the report as described above.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it. By using the service you acknowledge that you have read and understood that policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. No investment advice
CausalTrader publishes research, not investment advice. Nothing in any report is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, a solicitation, or a fiduciary engagement. See the disclaimer for the full statement, which is incorporated into these Terms.
9. Warranties and disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that any report is free of errors, complete, current, or that the underlying data sources are accurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to these Terms, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising under or related to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) US$100.
11. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mercurial AI Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors from any third-party claims arising out of your breach of these Terms or your trading or investment decisions. This indemnity does not apply to the extent prohibited by mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for any breach of these Terms, for fraud or chargeback abuse, or if continued service would be unlawful. Sections 5 through 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that the parties cannot resolve informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction there.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, including your right to bring proceedings in your local courts and your rights under the GDPR. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced by email or on this page at least seven days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
